The Ministry of foreign affairs of the Slovak Republic welcomes the fact that the Treaty of Lisbon will come into effect as of December 1, and will modernise the functioning of the EU to meet existing needs and requirements.

The non-parliamentary party named Freedom and Solidarity (Sloboda a Solidarita/SaS) has major reservations concerning the Treaty of Lisbon, as Slovakia's legislation isn't ready yet for the Treaty's adoption.
