Opposition KDH Council criticised the change of way and contents of current Government Coalition's policy, and it appreciated the self-confidence of Irish citizens who rejected the Treaty of Lisbon in the referendum.

Irish referendum can be seen as a little mirror of EU citizens' opinion. In any other European country a referendum could bring similar results. It is more then probably that if Slovakia vote about Lisbon Treaty in referendum, Slovak voters would decide against, too.

Slovak Parliament on Thursday ratified the Lisbon Treaty. Slovakia has become the ninth EU-member country to approve the Treaty. The document will be signed soon by the Slovak president.
