To support the discussion on the rights of sexual minorities in Slovakia, the Netherlands Embassy in Slovakia, with its partners the Queers Leaders Forum and the Slovak Debate Association, organizes three public debates for high school pupils. The students debates follow Rainbow Pride Bratislava 2010 and will take place in Bratislava, Košice and Prešov. Debates are an original way how to deal with it a thought-provoking topic, because it shows the pros as well as the cons of the debated issue in competitive and catching way.

The Slovak Parliament passed the Patriotism Act. The legislation set to come into effect as of April 2010. According to the act, the Slovak national anthem must be mandatorily played in all schools at the beginning of every school week.
