To support the discussion on the rights of sexual minorities in Slovakia, the Netherlands Embassy in Slovakia, with its partners the Queers Leaders Forum and the Slovak Debate Association, organizes three public debates for high school pupils. The students debates follow Rainbow Pride Bratislava 2010 and will take place in Bratislava, Košice and Prešov. Debates are an original way how to deal with it a thought-provoking topic, because it shows the pros as well as the cons of the debated issue in competitive and catching way.

The debate in Bratislava will be held on Thursday, May 27th from 9:30 to 11:30 in the theatre A4 on Nám. SNP 12. There will we a debate of pupils from Gymnázium Metodová on whether the march for the rights of homosexual is / is not meaningful. After the debate there will be an open discussion of the students in the audience with one of the organizers of the Rainbow Pride 2010.

The thesis of the debates in Košice and Prešov will be on whether Slovakia is ready to adopt registered partnership of homosexuals. The debate in Košice will take place on Tuesday, May 25th from 14:30 at Gymnáziu Šrobárova in Košice. In Prešov, the debate will take place on Monday, May 24th from 9:30 at the school Evanjelické kolegium.

Debates will be held in Slovak language.
