The time stress connected to the accelerated financial assistance to Greece is suspicious and improper for an appropriate discussion on loan equalling to €110 billion said SDKU-DS caucus leader Stanislav Janis on Saturday.

Janis was speaking in reaction to the decisions made at the extraordinary Government's session earlier the same day. The Cabinet gave mandate to Finance Minister Jan Pociatek to sign the eurozone's framework agreement on helping Greece on behalf of Slovakia.

"We don't know what Slovakia obliges itself to on the basis of this agreement. Nobody has seen the agreement yet," stressed Janis, labelling the speeded-up procedure on the European level as suspicious. "The EU claimed in January that there weren't any threat for Greece and there was no need for any special measures, while €45 billion was needed in April and €110 billion is needed in May," specified Janis.

According to Prime Minister Robert Fico, Finance Minister should sign the framework agreement on Saturday and it should be sent to Brussels via electronic mail immediately afterwards. Then, the final agreement between the European Commission and Greece should be signed on the same day.
