Slovakia and Slovenia Should Co-operate Against Crisis

Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic and his Slovenian counterpart Danilo Turk review the guards of honor during the arrival ceremony.
Ljubljana, Slovenia - Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic on Sunday afternoon began his three-day official visit to Slovenia. On the second day his visit he attended a bilateral business forum where he called for more co-operation between economic representatives and entrepreneurs of the two countries against the global economic crisis.

According to the president Slovakia is interested in co-operation with Slovenia in areas like electrical-engineering and energy industries where work on specific plans is already in progress. Under contemplation among other things are the use of renewable energy sources and an increase in energy efficiency.

Speaking to over twenty Slovak and Slovenian entrepreneurs the Slovak head-of-state noted a similarity in the two countries' economies in their pro-export orientation coupled with limited energy sources and tiny markets causing sensitivity to global economic movements and crises.
