Prime Minister Robert Fico Sees No Reason to Dismiss Interior Minister Robert Kalinak Over Explosives Scandal

Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert FicoSlovakia, Bratislava - Slovakia's Prime Minister Robert Fico said he doesn't see any reason to dismiss Interior Minister Robert Kalinak over the explosives incident on January 2 – in which the airport security planted danger explosives in the luggage of unsuspecting passengers. As result of multiple failures made by Slovak police and Poprad airport authorities, the explosives were unwittingly transported to Dublin by one of passengers.

Speaking on Slovak Television on Sunday, Fico said "Kalinak's bad luck was that an individual police officer failed during a dog-training, while he (Interior Minister) was in his office."

Fico claimed that several factors have been forgotten in connection with this incident - for example, how is it possible that a pilot flew to another state despite the fact that he knew about explosives on board of his plane.
