Opposition Calling Slovak Interior Minister Not to Hide and to Explain the Hidden Explosives Incident

Slovakia, Bratislava, Poprad – The Slovak Interior Minister Robert Kalinak views the failed police operation involving explosive traveling from Poprad to Dublin in the bag of an unwitting passenger as an individual failure of one police officer. The officer concerned will face disciplinary proceedings.

"To infer responsibility toward his superiors, who were updated on the proceedings quite late ... would be unjust and inappropriate," commented ministry spokesman.

Opposition is calling Interior Minister to explain the situation at the ministerial level.

"Interior Minister Robert Kalinak is eager to show off wherever he can win political points; but when a problem arises he fails to provide an explanations and hides behind his inferiors. The minister has now made himself visible internationally," states opposition MP and former Slovak Defence Minister Martin Fedor.
